This is a step by step guide for checking your e-mail on your personal computer. The images on this page are just for display purposes only.

Step one:        Go to the web address http://portal.cathedral.qld.edu.au 

Step two:        Click on the Web Mail button

Step Three:     Once you have got to screen below, enter in your username & password

Step Four:     If this is your first time login into the web mail system it is suggested that you spend a few minutes looking around at the features.

Bookmarks:    This is a section for adding saved websites to your web mail login, meaning that you can access these saved 
                       websites were ever you are, not just on one computer

Calender:        The calendar allows you to add appointments in so you don't forget them, such as a meeting or an after school 
                        commitment 

Help:               There is an excellent help section on the web mail system that will answer most of your day-to-day usage questions.

Folders:           The folders link will allow you to make folders to store your e-mails in, for instance you can put all your maths 
                        related e-mails in a folder called maths.

Addresses:       The addresses link is a place to store all your e-mail address of friends and teachers so you don't forget them

This is a step by step guide for accessing your school desktop from your personal computer. The images on this page are just for display purposes only.

Step one:        Go to the web address http://portal.cathedral.qld.edu.au 

Step two:        Click on the 'Remote Access' button

Step Three:     If this is your first time using remote access you will need to install a small piece of software. You will see a small popup 
                         on the top your screen like below

Step Four:       You will need to then install the ActiveX control by right mouse button clicking on the popup and choosing 'Install ActiveX Control'

Step Five:       You will then need to install the software by clicking 'Install' on the next popup

Step Five:       You should now be able to connect by clicking the 'connect' button

This is a trouble shooting guide for accessing your school desktop from your personal computer. The images on this page are just for display purposes only.

1. The most likely reason for problems with accessing the school desktop remotely is a damaged client, this is where we will explain how to remove the damaged client.

2. Open up internet explorer at any site other than the cathedral school site.

3. Then click on the 'tools' drop down box at the top of the screen, then choose 'internet options'

 

4. once there choose the 'settings' button

5. From there you need to select the 'view objects' button.

5. Now you will see a list of programs that Internet Explorer uses, anything there that appears as 'damaged' right click on in and press 'remove'

6. Once that is done return to 'Guide for using remote desktop from home' above

This is a step by step guide for logging on to the school's Intranet. The images on this page are just for display purposes only.

Step one:        Go to the web address http://portal.cathedral.qld.edu.au 

Step two:        Click on the Intranet button

Step Three:     Once you have got to screen below, Push the Intranet Button

 Step Four:    An authentication box will come up like 
                       below. Enter your username and password in and press the OK Button

 Trouble Shooting: Remember to use the prefix cathedral\ before your username
                               Make sure you use the right slash, it is a backslash '\'
                               If you are rejected from a bad username/password check to see if 'capital locks' is on
                               The connecting of home directories will only work on Internet Explorer 5 or later
                               If troubles persist please send a detailed explanation of your problems to us e-mail
